In Iraq, Putting Survivors at the Center activities are implemented by the Women for Women International as well as their partner organization, Mercy Corps. Findings from Phase I (Formative Research), which included input from survivors, local organizations, and members of a technical advisory group, pointed to an overall need for stronger coordination between GBV and non-GBV specialist organizations. Refugee women and girls were also in need of more psychosocial support, as were the frontline staff who work with these communities on a regular basis. The activities taking place in Iraq respond to these specific needs as well as some of the larger thematic findings from the formative research phase.
